I facilitated workshops assisted (and later led) by Jonny Broad during the New Media Meets Old residency in Wick. The young people developed confidence with creativity and experimented with camera techniques through fun workshops and the opportunity to create their own films.
Lifting the Lid was a series of workshops lead by artists and organised by the education officer Catherine Orbach at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill. I have led both printmaking and Photoshop workshops for families and school groups during exhibition programmes.
One of my roles as artist in residence was as a technician and tutor for sixth formers. I introduced Photoshop in an art class and some students continued using manipulation techniques in their A-level work. This image Vanity is part of a series of photo manipulations from The Seven Deadly Sins by Danielle.
A scaled down model of a Hastings fishing hut containing a Blue Morpho butterfly and presented inside an actual Hastings fishing hut. This was shown in a contemporary art trail around Hastings during the Coastal Currents festival.
An interactive multimedia video installation with stories recorded and edited by Lewis Williams. A graduation piece to conclude the Multimedia course at Lighthouse Arts and Training. It was a digital memorial in light and time where the church provided a reverent space in which to experience the work.
A series of Toray plate etchings with chine collé (58 cm x 38 cm) presented in a custom-made large-scale photo album book. I collaborated with my mother Annie Kane, who wrote the accompanying story. The book was printed during my artist residency in the Lake District. This piece was exhibited in Additions, curated by CAP at St Mary Magdalene Church, London 2002.
